Animal houseRMRIMS, Patna

The animal House is located in a separate block and is registered under Committee for the purpose of control and supervision of experiments (CPCSEA), Govt of India. The house is vested by Institutional Animal Ethical Committee (IAEC) of a chairman and members as scientists from biological discipline, Veterinarian, External Expert, Social Scientist, CPCSEA nominee and a member secretary who assess the research project prior to animal experimentation. The house is maintained by proper temperature, noiseless and rat free rooms. Pure drinking water is provided by RO system and instant made food/pallet diet is supplied to the animals in hygiene condition. The house provides rearing and care of experimental animals in the closely monitor of veterinarian. An incinerator for disposing the euthanized animals is available in the campus.

• Separates rooms for rearing, experimentation, Blood collection and surgery are available
• Models of visceral Leishmaniasis are available on request
• Sick and recovery rooms are available
• Washing, Sterilization rooms are separate
• Staff rooms are in isolated area
• Ready stock of animals are available on request
• Future facilities to take registration from CPCSEA for animal breeding and trading in favour of ICMR
