Major achievements:
  1. Bone Marrow Cytology in VL to assess the response to specific therapy, changes in marrow cytology have been correlated with the parasite load and haematological parameters in relation to treatment in both responsive and unresponsive cases.

  2. Prevalence and natural course of progression of PKDL in an endemic community of Bihar with reference to clinicopathological changes.

  3. Histopathological and clinicopathological changes in Post Kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis ( PKDL) lesions in relation to treatment and immune response with follow up study.

  4. Absolute counts of neutrophils and eosinophils with total leucocyte counts during specific therapy in cases with visceral leishmaniasis.

  5. Priliminary study on Lymphatic filariasis in Bihar (collaborative study)

  6. Study of Haematocrit and types of anaemia in cases of visceral leishmaniasis.

  7. Reticulocyte count and reticulocyte production index in anaemia ofr kala-azar cases-a preliminary study.

  8. Immunohistochemical staining in diagnosis of PKDL in compare to conventional methods of Histopathology / imprint smear and culture.

  9. Longitudinal studies with Leishmanin skin test and DAT for estimation of infection dynamics of L. donovani in two endemic Villages from Vaishali district of Bihar.
